The Cutter is an allegorical figure inspired by tarot cards, early dissection practices and medieval Christian iconography. She is an imaginary character that represents a myth, an archetype, or a God-like supernatural being. She is the one who cuts, she who holds the knife, embodying the power to decide over life and death, the executer in sacrificial ritual. She is essentially a personification of menstruation.
